What this trial studies

This clinical study evaluates the effectiveness of digital storytelling as a method for managing symptoms in children diagnosed with cancer. Participants aged 7-18 will engage in a structured process over six weeks, which includes interviews and the creation of a digital story. The study aims to compare anxiety, fatigue, nausea, and pain scores between children who participate in digital storytelling and those who do not. The goal is to understand how this creative approach can impact their overall symptom management and emotional well-being.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 7-18 who have completed the induction phase of cancer treatment and are currently in the consolidation phase.

Not a fit: Patients who cannot speak Turkish or have secondary chronic diseases that affect cognitive processes may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve symptom management and emotional support for children undergoing cancer treatment.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of digital storytelling in healthcare is emerging, this specific application in pediatric oncology is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
