What this trial studies
This study investigates whether feedback from a Large Language Model (LLM) can enhance the quality of patient care in Nigerian primary care clinics. Healthcare workers will receive instant, customized feedback on patient care decisions through an integrated electronic patient record system. The effectiveness of this feedback will be assessed by comparing patient care notes written before and after the feedback is provided, with a blinded review conducted by a medical officer. The study aims to determine if this innovative approach leads to better healthcare outcomes for patients.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients visiting the clinic for outpatient consultations who do not require emergency care.
Not a fit: Patients seeking emergency care, trauma treatment, or scheduled procedures may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the quality of healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of LLMs in healthcare is an emerging field, similar studies have shown promise in improving decision-making and patient outcomes.
