What this trial studies
This pilot study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of ChatGPT, an AI language model, in providing pre-vasectomy counseling at the Manitoba Men's Health Clinic. The study will assess whether using ChatGPT can streamline the consultation process by reducing visit times while enhancing patient satisfaction. By leveraging AI technology, the investigators hope to address physician burnout and improve patient flow in urology practices. The study will involve adult patients who are undergoing vasectomies and are interested in participating.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adult patients over 18 years old who are undergoing vasectomies and are willing to consent to participate.
Not a fit: Patients who do not consent or are uninterested in participating will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to more efficient consultations and improved patient satisfaction in the vasectomy process.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of AI in medical consultations is gaining interest, this specific application of ChatGPT for pre-vasectomy counseling is novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
