What this trial studies

This study investigates the effectiveness of a character strengths-based structured treatment and education program (CSSTEP) for stroke patients. It aims to enhance mental state, cognitive function, and gait performance while reducing post-stroke depression and improving self-confidence. The program is designed to motivate patients to actively engage in their rehabilitation process through personalized interventions based on their character strengths. The study will provide clinical evidence on the application of this innovative approach in stroke rehabilitation.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have been clinically diagnosed with stroke within the last 30 days and have stable vital signs.

Not a fit: Patients with moderate to severe cognitive impairment or unstable vital signs due to serious health conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the rehabilitation outcomes and mental well-being of stroke patients.

How similar studies have performed: While character strengths interventions have shown success in chronic disease management abroad, research specifically targeting stroke patients with this approach is limited and novel.
