What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of a virtual escape room game designed to enhance nursing students' knowledge, self-efficacy, clinical comfort, and anxiety regarding pediatric drug administration. By engaging students in an interactive learning environment, the study aims to address the common issue of medication errors in pediatric care. Participants will be third-year nursing students who volunteer and have access to a computer or smartphone. The study will compare the outcomes of those who participate in the virtual escape room intervention against a control group.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are third-year nursing students who are willing to participate and have access to the necessary technology.
Not a fit: Students who have repeated a grade, suspended their nursing education, or canceled their registration will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve nursing students' preparedness and confidence in administering medications to pediatric patients.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of virtual escape rooms in education is a novel approach, similar interactive learning methods have shown promise in enhancing student engagement and knowledge retention.
