What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on the implantation of the ALN OATF vena cava filter (VCF) in patients at risk of pulmonary embolism (PE) who cannot use anticoagulation therapy. It aims to document the rates of filter implantation, removal, and any complications that arise during its use in clinical practice. The study will involve patients who have been informed and consented to participate, ensuring ethical standards are maintained. Data will be collected from patients implanted with the filter at a designated medical center in Paris.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients with acute pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis who cannot receive anticoagulation therapy.

Not a fit: Patients who are minors, pregnant, or under legal protection measures will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the management of patients at risk for pulmonary embolism by providing insights into the safety and efficacy of the ALN OATF vena cava filter.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have explored the use of vena cava filters, but the specific application of the ALN OATF filter in this context is relatively novel.
