What this trial studies

This study focuses on developing a wearable multifunctional vibration knee brace designed to improve functional performance and alleviate pain in elderly patients suffering from degenerative knee osteoarthritis. By utilizing artificial intelligence, the study aims to personalize rehabilitation approaches for individuals aged 50 to 80 with knee OA. The effectiveness of this innovative device will be compared to conventional treatments over a four-year period, assessing its feasibility and efficacy in enhancing mobility and reducing pain. The study will specifically target patients with mild to moderate knee OA as defined by X-ray criteria.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 50 to 80 diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis.

Not a fit: Patients who have undergone knee or hip surgery, have systemic arthritis, or neurological disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve mobility and reduce pain for patients with knee osteoarthritis.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of AI in rehabilitation is a growing field, this specific approach using a multifunctional vibration knee brace is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
