What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a connected application in promoting physical activity among patients who have completed cardiac rehabilitation. It compares two groups: one receiving standard care and the other using the application to track and encourage their activity levels. The study will assess compliance with physical activity recommendations at six months post-rehabilitation, using accelerometers to measure activity levels. The goal is to address the significant drop in physical activity that many patients experience after rehabilitation.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients who have recently completed cardiac rehabilitation and have access to a compatible smartphone and internet.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable or unwilling to comply with the study protocol, including those who are pregnant or under guardianship, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve long-term physical activity adherence in cardiac rehabilitation patients, enhancing their overall health outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using technology to improve patient adherence to rehabilitation protocols, suggesting this approach may be effective.
