What this trial studies
This interventional study evaluates the effectiveness of a vaccine chatbot designed to enhance awareness and knowledge of the HPV vaccine among parents of female junior middle school students in China. Participants in the intervention group will interact with the chatbot via WeChat, receiving immediate, validated answers to their questions about the HPV vaccine. The study aims to measure changes in vaccination rates and parental willingness to vaccinate their daughters, comparing results with a control group that does not use the chatbot. The research employs a cluster randomized design, sampling from various cities and schools to ensure diverse representation.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are parents of female junior middle school students who have not yet been vaccinated against HPV.
Not a fit: Patients who have already been vaccinated or have contraindications to the HPV vaccine will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly increase HPV vaccination rates among middle school girls in China.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with digital health interventions for vaccine awareness, suggesting potential for this novel approach.
