Using 68Ga-FAPI PET Imaging to Detect Ovarian Cancer Recurrence
Clinical Application of 68Ga-FAPI PET Imaging in Detection of Ovarian Cancer Recurrence
This study is testing a new type of imaging called 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT to see if it can better find recurrences of ovarian cancer compared to the usual imaging method.

What this trial studies
This prospective study investigates the effectiveness of 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT imaging in detecting recurrences of epithelial ovarian cancer compared to the standard 18F-FDG PET/CT. The study aims to identify patients who may benefit from secondary treatments by early detection and localization of cancer recurrence. The clinical utility of 68Ga-FAPI for this purpose is not yet well established, making this an important evaluation in the field of gynecological oncology.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adult patients aged 18 to 80 with clinically suspected recurrent ovarian cancer who have undergone both 18F-FDG and 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT imaging.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, have poor performance status, or are unwilling to provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved detection of ovarian cancer recurrences, allowing for timely and more effective treatment options.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of 68Ga-FAPI in this context is relatively novel, other studies have shown promise in utilizing similar imaging techniques for cancer detection.
