What this trial studies
This observational study aims to identify and describe the obstacles and facilitators that police officers face when seeking treatment for mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. It focuses on active police officers and support staff within the French national police, exploring their experiences and perceptions regarding mental health care. The study seeks to gather qualitative data to better understand the unique challenges this population encounters in accessing mental health services.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are active police officers and support staff within the French national police who have been in their roles for over a year.
Not a fit: Patients who have been in their positions for less than a year or are stationed in the Bas Rhin department may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved mental health support and treatment pathways for police officers, enhancing their overall well-being.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies addressing mental health in law enforcement, this specific focus on barriers and facilitators for treatment is relatively novel.
