Understanding the health changes in HIV patients over time
Evolution Over 15 Years (2008-2023) of the Clinical, Immuno-virological and Aging Trajectory of Patients Living With HIV

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to characterize the evolution of the immuno-virological profile and immune aging in HIV-infected patients who participated in the TEMPO-1 study from 2007-2008. It will evaluate how immune aging and inflammatory profiles contribute to the development of comorbidities in these individuals over a 15-year period. The study highlights the increasing number of older adults living with HIV and the associated rise in age-related non-infectious comorbidities. By comparing HIV-infected patients with uninfected older adults, the research seeks to understand the broader implications of chronic HIV infection on health as patients age.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include HIV-infected individuals aged 18 and older who previously participated in the TEMPO-1 study.
Not a fit: Patients who are under judicial protection or legal guardianship may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into managing comorbidities in older HIV patients, improving their quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in understanding the long-term health impacts of HIV, making this approach both relevant and necessary.
