What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the prevalence of muscle, nerve, and joint pain associated with common spinal disorders. By analyzing data from patients diagnosed with these conditions, the study seeks to identify the primary tissue responsible for pain in different spinal regions. The findings will provide valuable insights for physical therapists, aiding in differential diagnosis and treatment planning. Participants will include both pre and post-operative patients aged 18 to 60, diagnosed by orthopedic physicians.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18 to 60 with spinal disorders diagnosed by an orthopedic physician.

Not a fit: Patients with viscerogenic pain, cancer, psychogenic pain or disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, or fibromyalgia may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the accuracy of pain diagnosis and improve treatment strategies for patients with spinal disorders.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored pain prevalence in spinal disorders, this specific approach focusing on tissue identification is relatively novel.
