What this trial studies
This study investigates the relationship between shame and suicidal behavior in patients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Over a five-year period, 688 participants will be followed to assess their propensity to feel shame and its predictive value for suicide attempts. The study includes annual clinical evaluations and self-questionnaires, along with genetic and biological sample collections. The goal is to identify subgroups of patients based on their suicidal behavior and overall functioning, as well as to discover biological markers that may predict suicide attempts.
