What this trial studies

This observational study aims to investigate the frequency of repetitive anaphylactic reactions in patients with food allergies, specifically focusing on different elicitors such as peanuts, tree nuts, and legumes. Participants will complete questionnaires at baseline and at 3, 6, 12, and 24 months to provide data on new allergic reactions, eating behaviors, and quality of life related to their food allergies. The study seeks to establish patterns in reactions and assess the impact of previous anaphylactic experiences on patients' self-management and emergency medication use. The ultimate goal is to enhance care strategies to reduce the risk of repeat reactions in food allergic individuals.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals who have experienced an anaphylactic reaction to specific food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, or legumes within the past year.

Not a fit: Patients who have not experienced an anaphylactic reaction or do not have a diagnosed food allergy may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for food allergic patients, reducing the incidence of repeat anaphylactic reactions.

How similar studies have performed: While this study focuses on a specific aspect of food allergies, similar observational studies have shown success in understanding allergic reactions and improving patient outcomes.
