What this trial studies

This observational study aims to identify factors that affect the quality of life in young adults under 50 years old who have experienced an ischemic stroke. It will assess various predictors of health-related quality of life and evaluate changes over the first year of recovery using standardized neuropsychological tools and specific health-related quality of life measures. The study will involve two phases, starting with the validation of the Czech version of the Stroke Impact Scale 3.0 with 300 participants, followed by a deeper analysis with 200 enrolled patients. The approach combines both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gain comprehensive insights.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are young adults aged 18-65 who have suffered an acute ischemic stroke.

Not a fit: Patients with transient ischemic attacks, hemorrhagic strokes, severe cognitive impairments, or significant communication disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved rehabilitation and self-management programs for young ischemic stroke survivors, enhancing their quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies focusing on stroke recovery, this specific approach targeting young ischemic stroke patients and their unique challenges is relatively novel.
