What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the barriers and facilitators that affect the patient experience of Asian and Asian American individuals diagnosed with cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The primary objective is to identify key aspects of inpatient experiences among former patients, while secondary objectives focus on understanding healthcare providers' perceptions of these experiences. The study will involve interviews and surveys with former patients and healthcare providers to gather qualitative data on their experiences and insights.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include Asian or Asian American individuals aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with any type of cancer and received inpatient care at MD Anderson between 2019 and 2022.

Not a fit: Patients who do not identify as Asian or Asian American or who have not received inpatient care at MD Anderson during the specified timeframe may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved patient care and tailored support for Asian cancer patients.

How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies focusing on patient experiences in general, this specific focus on Asian cancer patients is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
