What this trial studies

This project focuses on elderly cancer patients, aiming to identify motivational factors that influence their physical activity and nutrition. It employs a multidisciplinary approach, collaborating between oncologists and geriatricians to ensure tailored treatment for this vulnerable population. The study will categorize patients based on their motivational determinants and subsequently propose a behavioral intervention to enhance adherence to personalized physical activity and nutrition goals. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life and treatment outcomes for elderly patients with cancer.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients aged 70 or older who have solid tumors and are currently inactive.

Not a fit: Patients with brain metastases, those unable to participate in assessments, or those with contraindications to physical activity may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved adherence to physical activity and nutrition among elderly cancer patients, enhancing their overall health and treatment outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited evidence specifically targeting this demographic, similar multidisciplinary approaches in geriatric oncology have shown promise in improving patient outcomes.
