Understanding how genetics and lifestyle affect endometrial cancer recurrence

Molecular Classification in Relation to Prevention of Endometrial Cancer Recurrence and Lifestyle Factors

Faculty Hospital Kralovske Vinohrady · NCT06680791

What this trial studies

This observational study aims to define specific mutational signatures in endometrial cancer patients using whole-exome sequencing. It will analyze the relationship between these mutational profiles and the molecular classification of endometrial cancer, particularly focusing on patients with non-specific profiles or p53 mutations. Additionally, the study will investigate how lifestyle risk factors such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus correlate with these genetic profiles. The ultimate goal is to develop a methodology for detecting mutations in circulating tumor DNA to monitor recurrence in high-risk patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women clinically diagnosed with endometrial cancer who have undergone uterine removal with adequate staging.

Not a fit: Patients who do not have a clinical diagnosis of endometrial cancer will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved personalized treatment strategies and monitoring for patients with endometrial cancer.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using genetic profiling to inform treatment decisions in cancer, suggesting this approach may be beneficial.
