What this trial studies
This observational study aims to explore the genetic factors influencing breast cancer risk by collecting health surveys and saliva samples from participants. Individuals aged 18 and older living in the US can participate online, with no prior cancer diagnosis required. The study seeks to enhance knowledge about the genetic basis of breast cancer, which is essential for future drug development. Participants may also receive complimentary information about their genetic ancestry. The study emphasizes diversity among participants, including men, to maximize data utility.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals aged 18 and older living in the US who are interested in contributing to breast cancer research.
Not a fit: Patients who do not meet the inclusion criteria or are not interested in genetic research may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding of breast cancer genetics, potentially informing better prevention and treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies focusing on genetic factors in breast cancer have shown promise, indicating that this approach is both relevant and potentially impactful.
