Understanding Hepatitis B Virus Characteristics and Resistance
Molecular Characteristics of Hepatitis B Virus Integration, Mutation, and Drug Resistance
Beijing Friendship Hospital · NCT06779864
This study looks at people with chronic hepatitis B to see how the virus behaves and if it has any resistance to treatments, by comparing those on medication to those not receiving treatment.

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) to analyze the molecular characteristics of the hepatitis B virus (HBV), including its integration, mutations, and drug resistance. Participants will be divided into two cohorts: one receiving antiviral treatment and monitored for HBV-related complications, and another assessed at a single time point without treatment. Blood and liver tissue samples will be collected to investigate HBV genotypes and their association with clinical outcomes. The goal is to enhance understanding of HBV's behavior and resistance patterns in different patient populations.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with a confirmed diagnosis of chronic hepatitis B who have complete clinical data and retained blood or liver tissue samples.
Not a fit: Patients without available blood or liver tissue samples will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for chronic hepatitis B and better treatment outcomes for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on HBV characteristics, this specific approach focusing on integration and drug resistance is relatively novel.
