What this trial studies

This project aims to identify the clinical, genetic, and environmental factors that influence the progression of prostate cancer. By building two prospective cohorts in Guadeloupe and Rennes, the study will collect data through structured questionnaires and biological samples from patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. The goal is to understand why some cases are indolent while others are aggressive, taking into account the patients' ethno-geographic backgrounds and various risk factors. This knowledge could help tailor treatment and prevention strategies for high-risk populations.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adult patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer residing in Guadeloupe, Martinique, or Brittany.

Not a fit: Patients with physical or mental health conditions that prevent participation may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more personalized treatment options and improved prevention strategies for prostate cancer.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on prostate cancer progression, this approach focusing on ethno-geographic determinants is relatively novel.
