What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the epidemiological and intrinsic characteristics of chronic rhinitis affecting a significant portion of the Chinese population. It will involve a multicentric survey of 30,000 patients across various regions in China, collecting clinical, demographic, and biological data through questionnaires and nasal examinations. The study seeks to create a national database to better understand the causes and risks associated with chronic rhinitis, ultimately improving treatment and prevention strategies. Biological samples will also be preserved for future analysis to explore the disease's mechanisms.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are Chinese individuals aged 18 to 70 who have lived in the survey area for at least six months.
Not a fit: Patients with recent nasal surgeries, specific nasal conditions, or those residing in specialized facilities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved treatments and preventive strategies for chronic rhinitis, benefiting millions of patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on chronic rhinitis, this comprehensive nationwide approach is relatively novel and aims to fill significant gaps in existing research.
