Understanding cardiac tumors and their risks
Characteristics of Cardiac Tumor and the Risk Stratification of Subsequent Adverse Events (UNIQUE): an Investigator-initiated, National, Multicenter, Retrospective-prospective, Cohort Study
This study is trying to gather information from patients with heart tumors to better understand their risks and develop a way to predict how these tumors might behave over time.

What this trial studies
This study aims to collect and analyze clinical and biological data from patients diagnosed with cardiac tumors, both retrospectively and prospectively. It will utilize various techniques, including molecular biology and multi-omics analysis, to develop a prognostic model for these tumors. The research will involve a long-term follow-up cohort and management system, assessing disease characteristics, progression patterns, and long-term prognosis. Data will be gathered from cases spanning from 2003 to 2030, creating a comprehensive understanding of cardiac tumors.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients diagnosed with various types of cardiac tumors who are regularly followed up at a cardiovascular center.
Not a fit: Patients under 3 years or over 80 years old, pregnant or lactating women, and those unable to provide informed consent will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve risk stratification and management of patients with cardiac tumors.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on cardiac tumors, this approach of combining retrospective and prospective data collection with multi-omics analysis is relatively novel.
Eligibility criteria
Show full inclusion / exclusion criteria
Inclusion Criteria: * Patients who are regularly visited and followed up in the corresponding cardiovascular center. * All patients must meet at least one of the following diagnostic criteria for cardiac neoplasms: 1. Cardiac myxoma group; 2. Cardiac fibroma group; 3. Cardiac lipoma group; 4. Cardiac hemangioma group; 5. Cardiac undifferentiated sarcoma; 6. Cardiac angiosarcoma group; 7. Cardiac rhabdomyosarcoma group; 8. Cardiac lymphoma group; 9. Cardiac metastasis group; 10. Other cardiac tumors group. Exclusion Criteria: * Age \<3 years or \>80 years old. * Pregnant and lactating women. * The patient declined to provide informed consent to participate in the study. * None of the above was met, but the patient was temporarily unable to sign the informed consent form due to coma and other reasons, and no legal representative signed it instead. Depending on the patient's condition, the patient may not be able to regain consciousness and sign the informed consent form.
