UCF MammoChat: An AI-Driven Platform for Personalized Breast Cancer Patient Support -Image Repository

Observational University of Central Florida · NCT07214883

What this trial studies

This observational project led by the University of Central Florida gathers de-identified diagnostic and screening mammogram images from adults alongside questionnaire responses and consent for data use. Collected images come from mammograms performed at U.S. institutions and are uploaded or shared electronically to create a diverse image repository. The dataset will be used to train and validate machine-learning models aimed at improving detection and reducing false positives across different populations and cancer types. Participants can also receive copies of their mammography images as part of the project.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Adults aged 18 and older who have had a screening or diagnostic breast imaging test performed at a U.S. institution and who can provide informed consent and access email or a smartphone are ideal candidates.

Not a fit: Those under 18, incarcerated individuals, adults unable to provide consent, or people without prior mammograms will not be eligible and are unlikely to benefit directly from this data-collection project.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the AI models trained on this repository could reduce false positives and unnecessary follow-up procedures, lowering anxiety and improving diagnostic accuracy.

How similar studies have performed: Other research using AI on mammography has shown promising improvements in detection and triage but performance varies and external validation across diverse populations remains incomplete.
