What this trial studies
Participants who are 18 or older, pre-menopausal, and receiving medical management for endometriosis at MUHC will install and use the elleFA smartphone app to log symptoms, treatments, and related events over a defined period. The study will collect data on how often and how well participants use the app, barriers to use, and whether the app improves completeness of symptom and treatment records. Consent and study materials are available in English and French, and investigators will analyze usage patterns and feasibility metrics to inform wider implementation. No investigational medications or procedures are administered as part of this implementation study.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are pre-menopausal women aged 18 or older with known or suspected endometriosis who are undergoing medical management at the McGill University Health Centre and can consent in English or French.
Not a fit: Patients who are post-menopausal, actively pregnant, seeking pregnancy, or not receiving care at MUHC (or who do not use a smartphone) are unlikely to benefit from participation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the app could improve symptom tracking and patient–provider communication, helping patients and clinicians find better treatments faster.
How similar studies have performed: Mobile health apps for pain and menstrual tracking have shown promise for engagement and symptom logging, but apps specifically designed for endometriosis are largely novel and have limited published evidence.
