What this trial studies

This randomized controlled trial at a private autism center (Uskudar University, Üsküdar, Istanbul) will enroll 70 parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and randomly assign 35 to a Triple P parenting education intervention and 35 to a control group. The intervention consists of structured parenting education sessions delivered to participating parents, with outcomes focused on children's repetitive behaviors and parents' mood and burnout levels. Randomization will be performed using Statistical Analysis Software and data will be analyzed with SPSS (v26.0) reporting descriptive statistics and group comparisons. Eligible participants are Turkish-speaking parents of children aged 0–12 diagnosed with ASD who are willing and able to attend sessions at the study site.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Turkish-speaking parents of children aged 0–12 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder who can attend sessions at the Istanbul site and are willing to participate.

Not a fit: Parents of children aged 13 or older or parents who do not speak Turkish would not be eligible and therefore would not receive benefit from participation.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the program could help reduce repetitive behaviors in children with autism and lessen parental burnout and mood problems through structured parenting support.

How similar studies have performed: Triple P and other structured parenting programs have shown positive effects on child behavior and parental stress in multiple trials, including some in autism populations, although results vary by program format and intensity.
