What this trial studies
This study investigates the impact of patient education and pelvic floor training on dysmenorrhea symptoms in young women aged 18-35 diagnosed with primary dysmenorrhea. Participants are divided into an education group, which receives training on pelvic floor exercises, and a control group that uses conventional self-management methods. Evaluations of symptom changes are conducted before the training and after the first menstrual cycle. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of education in alleviating menstrual pain and the correlation between knowledge levels and symptom severity.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are young women aged 18-35 with a diagnosis of primary dysmenorrhea and a regular menstrual cycle.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of endometriosis, gynecological pathology, or neurological/musculoskeletal problems may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce menstrual pain and improve quality of life for young women suffering from dysmenorrhea.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on this specific approach, similar studies have shown promise in using education and physiotherapy for managing dysmenorrhea.
