What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the effects of Action Observation Training on balance and mobility in children aged 5-12 with spastic cerebral palsy. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive training that incorporates action observation or training without it. The study will assess functional performance using various scales, including the Modified Ashworth scale and the Pediatric Balance Scale, before and after the intervention. The goal is to determine if action observation enhances physical functional performance compared to traditional training methods.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 5-12 with spastic cerebral palsy who can understand and follow commands.

Not a fit: Patients with severe visual or hearing impairments, recent orthopedic procedures, or co-morbid conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve balance and mobility in children with cerebral palsy, enhancing their overall functional performance.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of Action Observation Training may be novel, similar studies have shown positive outcomes in improving functional performance in children with disabilities.
