What this trial studies

This study focuses on adolescents and young adults aged 15-25 who have experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and aims to enhance their social skills and employment readiness through a program called Assistive Soft Skills and Employment Training (ASSET). The program addresses the social functioning difficulties often faced by individuals post-TBI, which can hinder their ability to form and maintain relationships and transition into the workforce. By providing targeted interventions, the study seeks to improve participants' quality of life and social participation as they move into adulthood. Participants must be at least one year post-injury to be eligible for the program.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents and young adults aged 15-25 who are at least one year post-injury from a traumatic brain injury.

Not a fit: Patients with significant neurological histories other than their TBI or those with unstable or uncontrolled seizures may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the social skills and employment opportunities for young individuals recovering from traumatic brain injuries.

How similar studies have performed: While specific similar studies were not mentioned, the focus on social skills training for individuals with disabilities has shown promise in improving social participation and employment outcomes in related fields.
