What this trial studies
This study evaluates the First Face for Mental Health training curriculum in Tribal communities, focusing on enhancing mental health knowledge and response capabilities among community members. Using a waitlist controlled trial design, participants will undergo training to better assist individuals experiencing mental health crises. The study aims to assess changes in trainees' knowledge, perceived competence, and attitudes towards mental health, as well as the overall impact on community mental health culture. Surveys will be conducted at multiple time points over two years to measure these outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 14 or older who live or work in one of the seven Tribal Nations affiliated with the Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations.
Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 14 or do not reside or work in the specified Tribal Nations may not benefit from this study.

Inclusion Criteria: * Age 14 or older * Living or working in one of the seven Tribal Nations affiliated with the Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations, including Northwestern United States, including the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, the Nez Perce Tribe, and the Spokane Tribe of Indians Exclusion Criteria: * Age 13 or younger * Not living or working in one of the seven Tribal Nations affiliated with the Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations, including Northwestern United States, including the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, the Nez Perce Tribe, and the Spokane Tribe of Indians
