What this trial studies

This study focuses on enhancing the training of first-year medical students at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine regarding firearm safety and violence. The curriculum includes a one-hour counseling training session, supplemented with additional instruction on suicide risk assessment and small group discussions.
