What this trial studies
This clinical study examines a new intervention designed to enhance Regulatory Selection Flexibility in adults with PTSD symptoms. Participants will be randomly assigned to either a Flexibility Training group or an Active Control Training group, both receiving a bi-weekly online intervention over seven sessions. The intervention includes psychoeducation on regulatory strategies, a computerized task to practice strategy selection, and homework assignments to apply learned strategies in daily life. The study aims to determine if improved flexibility in selecting emotional regulation strategies correlates with a reduction in PTSD symptoms.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are native Hebrew-speaking adults aged 18-65 who meet DSM-V criteria for PTSD and have normal or corrected vision.
Not a fit: Patients with complex PTSD, psychotic disorders, or significant cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve emotional regulation and reduce PTSD symptoms in affected individuals.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of enhancing emotion regulation is explored in other studies, this specific focus on Regulatory Selection Flexibility is relatively novel.
