What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a human-assisted social robot in enhancing emotional skills among children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Participants will be divided into two groups: one receiving training through the social robot and the other undergoing traditional therapy. The focus is on improving emotional regulation, which is crucial for social interaction and communication in children with autism. The study will assess the impact of these interventions on the children's social-emotional understanding.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder who meet specific language and developmental criteria.
Not a fit: Patients with other medical disorders that may interfere with the study's objectives will not benefit from this intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve emotional regulation and social skills in children with autism, leading to better social interactions.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of social robots in therapy is an emerging field, similar studies have shown promising results in enhancing social skills in children with autism.
