Telerehabilitation for improving word finding in post-stroke aphasia
Effects of Verb Network Strengthening Treatment (VNeST) Provided Via Telerehabilitation on Word Finding in Individuals With Post-stroke Aphasia: a Group Study.
This study is testing if online speech therapy can help people who have trouble finding words after a stroke improve their communication skills.

What this trial studies
This project evaluates the effects of a specific speech-language therapy intervention called Verb Network Strengthening Treatment (VNeST) delivered via telerehabilitation to improve word-finding abilities in individuals with aphasia resulting from stroke. The intervention focuses on training word retrieval at the sentence level, aiming to enhance communication skills and generalize improvements to connected speech. Participants will engage in online therapy sessions designed to address the challenges of anomia, a common symptom of aphasia. The study seeks to provide evidence for the effectiveness of remote therapy in treating language disorders.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with aphasia due to a left hemisphere stroke who experience word-finding difficulties and are fluent in Swedish.
Not a fit: Patients with other neurological conditions, severely impaired comprehension, or those currently receiving similar speech-language treatment may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance communication abilities and quality of life for patients with post-stroke aphasia.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for similar speech-language interventions, but the specific application of VNeST via telerehabilitation is relatively novel.
