What this trial studies

This intervention focuses on addressing vaccine hesitancy through a telehealth model that combines wellness education with vaccination counseling. Over a period of 24-30 months, individuals will be randomized into two groups: one receiving wellness education only and the other receiving additional vaccination education. The study aims to recruit 525 participants from high-risk industries, particularly targeting African-American and Hispanic individuals from semi-rural or rural communities. The primary goal is to increase completion rates of COVID-19 vaccinations, while also monitoring influenza vaccine uptake.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 65 who are currently employed or seeking training in high-risk industries and have incomplete vaccination status.

Not a fit: Patients who have already completed their COVID-19 vaccinations or have documented allergies to the vaccines may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly increase vaccination rates among vulnerable populations, thereby improving public health outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies addressing vaccine hesitancy, this specific telehealth approach targeting high-risk industries and social determinants of health is relatively novel.
