What this trial studies
This study aims to transition an in-person interdisciplinary care model for Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) to a virtual platform using video technology. By engaging stakeholders, including patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, the researchers will develop a tele-neurohub model to improve access to specialized care. The study will involve a prospective, randomized, controlled pilot implementation over six months, assessing feasibility, acceptability, and appropriateness of this virtual care model. The goal is to enhance the quality of care for patients with LBD and their caregivers from the comfort of their homes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia who have mild to moderate symptoms and access to the internet.
Not a fit: Patients with severe dementia or those without internet access may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve access to specialized care for patients with Lewy Body Dementia.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using telehealth for dementia care, indicating potential success for this approach.
