What this trial studies
This project aims to develop and validate a tele-rehabilitation program specifically designed for patients with brain injuries, including those who have suffered from ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes. The program will focus on improving patients' physical impairments and enhancing their social participation through therapeutic education and self-rehabilitation exercises. Patients will be monitored and assessed using diaries and self-evaluation questionnaires, with guidance from rehabilitation clinicians. The approach leverages communication technologies to facilitate remote rehabilitation, making it accessible in various settings, including hospitals and at home.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who are hospitalized in a neurorehabilitation unit following an acute, subacute, or chronic stroke.
Not a fit: Patients with other neurological or musculoskeletal diseases that limit their functional capacities or those with severe cognitive disorders may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance recovery outcomes and quality of life for brain injury patients.
How similar studies have performed: While tele-rehabilitation is a growing field, this specific program represents a novel approach tailored for brain injury patients, although similar tele-rehabilitation initiatives have shown promise in other contexts.
