What this trial studies
This observational study aims to investigate the differences in clinical symptoms, family genetic predisposition, and pathological characteristics of colorectal cancer patients across various age groups. By conducting a cross-sectional survey, the researchers will collect and analyze data from adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and are undergoing surgical treatment. The findings are expected to enhance understanding of how age influences the disease and inform more targeted prevention and treatment strategies. This study addresses a significant gap in existing research, particularly within the Chinese population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 years and older with a pathologic diagnosis of colorectal cancer who are undergoing surgical treatment.
Not a fit: Patients who have not undergone surgical treatment or pathologic examination, or who do not agree to participate in the survey, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate and earlier prevention and treatment strategies for colorectal cancer based on age-related differences.
How similar studies have performed: No similar studies have been registered or conducted, indicating that this research approach is novel and untested.
