What this trial studies

This study aims to adapt an established peer-led program to support home care workers (HCWs) dealing with chronic pain. The new program, COMPASS for Navigating Pain (COMPASS-NP), integrates injury protection strategies with pain education and cognitive-behavioral therapy to help HCWs manage their pain effectively. By addressing the unique challenges faced by HCWs, the program seeks to reduce pain interference in their work and improve their overall safety, health, and well-being. The intervention builds on previous successful outcomes from a related program, aiming to fill the gap in addressing chronic pain specifically.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are home care workers aged 18 and older who experience chronic pain and work at least 4 hours per week.

Not a fit: Patients who have previously participated in the original COMPASS program or are currently pregnant may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the quality of life and work performance for home care workers suffering from chronic pain.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies using similar peer-led interventions have shown significant positive outcomes, indicating a promising approach for this new program.
