What this trial studies
This trial evaluates a specific healthcare service designed for the treatment of patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD). It aims to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of this specialized program compared to standard treatment practices. The study includes two substudies: one focusing on the experiences of patients and therapists, and the other investigating the initial outpatient reception clinic's effectiveness. Patients will be followed for a duration of two years to gather comprehensive data on outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals with a primary diagnosis of borderline personality disorder who are willing to participate.
Not a fit: Patients with lifetime psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder type I, or severe substance dependence may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective and economically viable treatment option for patients with borderline personality disorder.
How similar studies have performed: This approach is novel, as there is a lack of prior studies evaluating specialized healthcare services specifically for borderline personality disorder.
