What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of Shuttle Balance Training (SBT) on balance, gait, and postural control in children aged 6-12 diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Participants will be randomly assigned to either an experimental group receiving SBT or a control group receiving standard care. The training consists of dynamic balance exercises and coordination drills conducted three times a week for 12 weeks. Various outcome measures, including the Berg balance scale and Timed Up and Go test, will be utilized to assess improvements in balance and coordination.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 6-12 years with mild cognitive impairment and the physical ability to participate in the training.
Not a fit: Patients with severe cognitive impairment or significant neurological disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance balance and mobility in children with mild cognitive impairment, improving their overall quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While similar approaches have been explored, this specific application of Shuttle Balance Training in children with MCI is relatively novel.
