What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on chronic kidney disease (CKD) and glomerulopathy, aiming to create a biobank and resource for researchers. It seeks to characterize tissue profiles to identify new disease markers and molecular pathways associated with CKD. By gathering data from individuals with CKD and a small number of healthy participants, the study aims to enhance understanding of the disease and facilitate future research. The findings will be made available to kidney investigators to promote advancements in CKD prevention and treatment.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals of any age with chronic kidney disease or a small number of healthy individuals for comparison.

Not a fit: Patients on dialysis, those who have had a kidney transplant, or individuals with polycystic kidney disease may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to the identification of new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for chronic kidney disease.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies focusing on CKD and biobanking have shown promise in advancing understanding and treatment options, indicating that this approach is both relevant and potentially impactful.
