What this trial studies

This intervention aims to test the effects of a relaxation and guided imagery program, called MindRegulation, on various socioemotional, physiological, cognitive, and academic outcomes in school-aged children. Conducted in a classroom setting, the program will involve 15-minute sessions three times a week for five months, targeting third and fourth graders. The study will randomly assign classes to one of three groups: relaxation and guided imagery, just relaxation, or a waitlist control. Outcomes will be measured through self-reports, neuropsychological assessments, and feedback from teachers and parents at multiple time points.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are third and fourth graders aged 8-11 attending the selected school.

Not a fit: Children who have previously participated in the RegularMind intervention or those unable to provide self-reports due to disabilities may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance children's emotional well-being, social skills, and academic performance.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited literature on similar interventions for elementary school children, existing research supports the effectiveness of guided imagery and relaxation techniques in promoting positive health outcomes.
