What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of Reiki energy therapy on fatigue and comfort levels in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Chronic renal failure often leads to significant discomfort and fatigue, impacting patients' quality of life. Reiki, a complementary therapy, aims to promote relaxation and alleviate stress, potentially improving the overall well-being of these patients. Participants will receive Reiki therapy alongside their standard hemodialysis treatment to assess its effectiveness in enhancing comfort and reducing fatigue.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who have been receiving hemodialysis treatment for at least six months and can communicate in Turkish.
Not a fit: Patients under 18, those with communication or mental health issues, or those who have been on hemodialysis for less than six months may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the quality of life for hemodialysis patients by reducing fatigue and enhancing comfort.
How similar studies have performed: While Reiki therapy has been explored in various contexts, this specific application in hemodialysis patients is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
