What this trial studies

This study collects and compares preoperative and postoperative data from patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty (TJA) for osteoarthritis. It utilizes patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) such as the HOOS Jr., Oxford score, and Harris Hip Score to assess patient satisfaction and function. Additionally, demographic and clinical data will be recorded, along with optional gait analysis and physical capacity testing. The aim is to evaluate the short- and long-term effects of joint replacement on patient comfort and function, while creating a data repository for future research.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients scheduled for total joint arthroplasty by the Principal Investigator.

Not a fit: Patients under 18, non-English speakers, or those unlikely to complete follow-ups may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the understanding of outcomes related to total joint arthroplasty, leading to enhanced patient care and satisfaction.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing similar registry approaches have shown success in improving patient outcomes and satisfaction in orthopedic surgeries.
