What this trial studies

This registry aims to compile worldwide outcomes from the use of the Vercise Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) System by Boston Scientific in treating Parkinson's disease. It evaluates the effectiveness of the system in improving disease symptoms and overall quality of life, comparing results to baseline measurements. The study also assesses the use of Image Guided Programming (IGP) and the DBS Illumina 3D feature as planning tools for patient programming. By gathering data from various locations, the registry seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the system's performance.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older who meet the criteria for the Vercise System's use.

Not a fit: Patients with significant cognitive or psychiatric impairments or those who meet contraindications for the Vercise System may not benefit from this registry.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could enhance the understanding of Vercise DBS System's effectiveness, leading to improved treatment strategies for Parkinson's disease patients.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies on deep brain stimulation have shown promising results, indicating that this approach is supported by prior successful outcomes.
