What this trial studies
This study involves the collection of data from healthy volunteers who undergo routine health check-ups at Seoul National Hospital Healthcare System Gangnam Center. Participants complete baseline questionnaires and provide blood samples, ensuring they have no significant respiratory symptoms or radiographic abnormalities. The data collected will serve as a control group for comparison with patients suffering from various respiratory diseases, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Asthma. The aim is to enhance understanding of these conditions by establishing a baseline of healthy individuals.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy individuals aged 19-90 who have undergone a health check-up and have no significant respiratory symptoms.
Not a fit: Patients with significant respiratory symptoms or abnormalities on chest radiography will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into respiratory diseases by establishing a clear comparison between healthy individuals and those affected by these conditions.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach of using healthy controls is common, the specific registry for these respiratory diseases may provide novel insights depending on the data collected.
