What this trial studies
The RECOVIH registry is an observational project that collects data from adults living with HIV who have additional cardiovascular risk factors and undergo cardiac examinations at the Cardiac Center of Saint Antoine Hospital. This registry aims to evaluate echocardiographic, coronarographic, and blood pressure abnormalities in this population. By maintaining anonymized data, the registry seeks to improve patient care through better risk stratification and understanding of the relationship between HIV and cardiovascular diseases. The findings from this registry may also contribute to research on optimal cardiac care for individuals living with HIV.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this registry are adults aged 18 and older who are HIV-1 positive and have at least two cardiovascular risk factors.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have HIV or those who do not meet the cardiovascular risk factor criteria may not benefit from this registry.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could enhance the understanding of cardiovascular risks in HIV patients, leading to improved patient care and management.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited scientific evidence specifically addressing this population, similar observational studies have shown promise in understanding cardiovascular complications in patients with chronic conditions.
