What this trial studies
This observational study aims to establish a registry for patients with atrial fibrillation treated at the Emergency Department of the Medical University of Vienna. The registry will facilitate structured diagnosis and therapy, potentially improving patient care for this growing population. Given the increasing prevalence of atrial fibrillation, particularly among the elderly, the study seeks to identify and address diagnostic and therapeutic shortcomings through data analysis. The focus is on enhancing treatment protocols and outcomes for patients experiencing this common cardiac arrhythmia.
Who should consider this trial

Not a fit: Patients who do not have atrial fibrillation or who are not treated at the Medical University of Vienna's Emergency Department may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this registry could lead to improved management and outcomes for patients with atrial fibrillation.
How similar studies have performed: While the concept of registries for managing atrial fibrillation is established, this specific approach in an emergency department setting may provide novel insights into patient care.
